Chert  Plate Set

Influenced by the textures of carved stone, and the inherent qualities of pottery, (earth-based material/Elemental, delicate and brittle/Fragility, hand made process/Craft, formed volumes and sculpted profiles/Void and Mass,)

The plate set concept embodies the esthetic themes as follows:
Elemental-Porcelain Composition, Fragility-Delicate Proportions, Craft-Crude Sculpted Reference, Void and Mass-Subtractive Details

Client: CB2

By using a randomly carved texture as its element, the plate set suggests its connection to crude handwork, and in contrast, its thin profile conveys a refined elegance.
